Staff parking on campus

Paperless parking permit enforcement will be active from Tuesday 1 October.

Please ensure you apply for a paperless parking permit or use visitor parking while parked on campus. Parking enforcement is currently active for improper parking, e.g. parking on double-yellow lines or a loading bay.

All staff working on the ÄûÃÊÊÓƵ campus are eligible to apply for one of two paperless permit types:

  • Annual (paid monthly)
  • Pay as you go (paid daily)

When you register for your staff permit on the portal, you will have the option to choose to pay monthly for an annual parking permit (via salary deduction), or for the daily pay as you go permit, which requires you to pay for parking each time you park on campus.

An annual permit is £30 per month (£360 per year) and is paid through monthly salary deduction, pro rata based on working hours relative to FTE.

Associate staff

Associate, retired and doctoral tutors can apply for an annual permit (at the cost of £36), or a daily pay as you go permit. These permits are intended for staff who only attend the University on occasion, and are dependent on monthly contracted working hours.

Disabled parking

University staff with a disability or mobility issue can contact Occupational Health to request a designated or reserved parking bay near their place of work.

Staff who hold a government/council issued Blue Badge are exempt from parking charges, and do not need a permit. Please ensure you register your vehicle with the Transport Office to arrange exemption from permit enforcement.

With the exception of bays designated to an individual and/or vehicle, only Blue Badge holders are eligible to park in disabled bays. More information is available on the disabled parking page.

Non-University staff and third parties

If you work on campus for a third party and are not on the ÄûÃÊÊÓƵ payroll, please apply via the standard paperless parking portal. Your permit will be approved by your line manager, or a designated administrator for your group.

The Sussex Innovation Centre manages the allocation of parking within its dedicated car park. This is not managed by the University Transport Office.

Registering multiple vehicles

Up to five vehicles may be registered on a single parking permit. You can add up to five vehicles when applying for your permit, and/or add and amend vehicles after your permit is approved by logging back in to the paperless parking portal.

Only one vehicle on a permit may be parked on campus at any one time.
