Social and Applied Psychology
We have made significant contributions to the theoretical and practical understanding of human thought, feelings and behaviour. As one of the largest groups of social psychologists in the country, we can undertake in-depth research into a large number of questions, which can be captured by the following research themes: health and behaviour change, identity, culture and wellbeing, intergroup relations, group processes and collective behaviour, consumer values and behaviour, and pro-social and pro-environmental behaviour. We're also actively involved in the Centre for Research on Cultural and Societal Diversity and the Psychological Methods strategic focus area.
is the group leader. Members of our group are also part of the Self-Affirmation Research Group (SARG) and the Sussex Hate Crime Project.
