TV/radio recording

Staff and students at Sussex can watch or record UK television programmes online using Box of Broadcasts (BoB).

BoB programme guide

IT Services subscribes to the service on behalf of the University and all staff and students are able to use it to record television or radio programmes due to be shown in the next seven days. For most channels, you can also retrieve programmes from the last thirty days or watch items that have been recorded by other users of the service.

Programmes are available in Flash video format in a similar way to the BBC's iPlayer, but the service covers a wide range of television and radio channels in the UK. Programmes also have transcripts so you can search for particular words and go straight to the points where they are mentioned.

Users can keep programmes they have recorded in their own archive ("My BoB") to watch again in the future and there are even editing tools, giving the option to make and keep clips from longer recordings.

The service is available for academic use without any need to create an account - staff or students at Sussex can simply login with their ITS username and password.
