Contributions
When you are first enrolled on to the Scheme, you pay 4% of your salary while the University contributes 8%.
You can pay a higher percentage if you wish and the University will contribute up to 12%.
The Scheme is designed to be flexible. If you want to change your contribution, email the Pensions Team: pensions@sussex.ac.uk.
Benefits of the scheme
If you are in the scheme, you:
- get valuable University pension contributions
- save income tax on the money you pay into your individual policy
- benefit from low management charges (which Aegon makes for investing and administering your pension pot) because we have negotiated special terms with Aegon
- can nominate someone to receive valuable life assurance benefits if you die.
