International Junior Research Associate Scheme
Students from selected partners are invited to work on a project for eight weeks, providing them with the opportunity to engage with distinguished researchers and develop invaluable academic skills and networks.
IJRA students become fully immersed in the Sussex summer experience, as they live alongside students participating in the Undergraduate Summer School and are able to join the organised trips as part of their social programme.
Here are some of the partners we have hosted scholars from since the IJRA was established in 2014:
- The Chinese University of Hong Kong
- University of Ghana
- Mahidol University
- Renmin University of China
- Tata Institute of Social Sciences
- University of California, Santa Cruz
- Wilfrid Laurier University
Students have worked in a diverse range of research centres and networks across the sciences, humanities and social sciences, including the Green Brain Project, the , and the . Where possible, research placements are identified that connect students with Sussex faculty involved in collaboration with the partner institutions.
