Multiple choice questions

When and where

Your exam timetable is displayed in Sussex Direct. The timetable will display the start time of the exam (UK time). All students are required to begin the exam at the published start time. Multiple choice question exams are conducted using the quiz tool in the module's Canvas site and can be accessed in the quizzes section and in the assignments section.

General guidance

  • You will have a single session of two hours to complete the assessment.
  • The MCQ exam is an individual assessment – do not consult other people.
  • You may use a calculator.
  • The assessment will only be available for 2 hours, once you start the quiz, the clock will count down automatically.
  • There is only one attempt.

What happens if I cannot start or finish the quiz?

  • Most people sit their MCQ assessments without issues. Problems are a rare exception.
  • If you experience major technical difficulties or an emergency that forces you to abandon your attempt, then the default solution offered by the University is for the student to make an  claim to obtain another attempt in the summer assessment period, (August).
