New Microsoft Teams is here!

From Wednesday, March 6th, all University staff members will automatically transition to the New Teams as their default client. If you’re not already using it, don’t worry—you’ll receive a prompt to switch. Simply select “Yes, go to new Teams”, and the application will update (approximately a 1-minute process).

However, if you prefer the familiar interface, you can always switch back to “Classic Teams”. Just head to your Teams settings (located in the top right corner) and use the toggle to turn off the New Teams option. Classic Teams will remain available until Microsoft disables it at the end of March 2024.

Important Notes:

1.      Spellchecker Issue: There’s a known issue with the New Teams spellchecker, which Microsoft is actively addressing. If you rely on spellchecking, consider either copying and pasting your messages into Word for verification or continuing to use Teams Classic.

2.     Telephony Consistency: Telephony functionality in MS Teams remains consistent across both the existing and new versions.
