The overall aim of this session is to equip researchers with the knowledge and tools to plan data gathering for quantitative studies. In any study, before any surveys are deployed, it is vital that there is a full forward plan of statistical tests to be used is developed. All too often researches collect data only to then find that are missing vital information which prevents them from undertaking full desired analysis.
By attending this session, you will:
- Understand the need to forward-plan full analysis when undertake quantitative analysis.
- Select appropriate statistical tests for example datasets.
- Identify data types and structures which example surveys will generate.
- Identify appropriate statistical tests which could be used for a range of survey questions.
The examples given will be based in education/scholarship.
This session forms part of 3 sessions on working with quantitative data in scholarship studies
- Session 1: Working as a co-author on a quantitative study
- Session 2: Planning quantitative studies
- Session 3: Undertaking quantitative analysis using SPSS
Participants can join in all or a selection of sessions based on their prior knowledge and experience.
