After the success of past years, the School of MPS recently hosted their third charity football match at Falmer Sports Complex. The match was in aid of .

This inclusive event was a great success raising over £500. Staff and students were brought together to enjoy some food and friendly competition, and ultimately the student team came out victorious with an impressive score of 11-3.

Lecturer Dr Chris Brown, said: “It is always difficult playing against your former team after a transfer, as the likes of Raheem Sterling, Alessia Russo, and Ian Wright know all too well. But to represent the staff team in our third annual Charity Football match, and my final one before moving across to Bristol, was a delight (despite the scoreline).

"It was a tough match in the blistering heat and with no let up from the student team; but we still had lots of fun and it was well worthwhile to have reached our target of £500 raised for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

"This contributes to a whopping £2,000+ raised for various fantastic charities over the last few years – something which I would never have thought possible when we first had the idea for a charity football match a few years ago! Best of luck to both staff and students in future editions – perhaps I’ll make a return soon to officiate!"

The school of MPS organise similar events regularly, as well as host weekly football sessions at the Falmer Sports Complex.
