There have been a few pedestrian route changes on campus over the last few weeks – here is a summary of what has changed:
Route between central campus and Northfield / Lewes Court
The new route from central campus to Lewes Court and Northfield is via Refectory Road with a crossing point to Northfield Lane at the bottom of Brighthelm. Please see the Campus Map for the updated route.
Pedestrian access to Brighthelm has not changed – please continue to access Brighthelm via East Slope.
The previous pathway between the back of the Health Centre and Lewes Court/Northfield has now permanently closed and there is no through access to residences.
Arts Path and Norwich House Road
The section of the Arts Path leading to Norwich House Road, that links central campus and the Student Centre, Health Centre and residences is reopening the week commencing Monday 29 January. Pedestrians will no longer be diverted via Refectory Road and will instead be directed along Arts Path.
We have also closed a number of temporary pathways along the Arts Path that were installed whilst utility works were underway. These utility works are now complete with permanent pathways being restored and lawns reseeded.
Refectory Road and Bramber House
The Refectory Road entrance to Bramber House has now reopened and the Refectory Road pavement alongside Bramber House will remain closed whilst works are underway to . Please either use the Arts Path to travel between central campus and the Student Centre and residences to the north of campus, or use the opposite side of Refectory Road.
West Slope Construction Traffic
Over the next few months, pedestrians may notice more vehicles on campus as more activity gets underway within the West Slope construction site. Vehicles will be accessing the construction site via Refectory Road and East Slope Road, so please take extra care when crossing roads and only use designated walkways.
