Viki Walden's work on Digital Holocaust Memory

Dr Viki Walden, Senior Lecturer in Media Studies, has launched a for her Digital Holocaust Memory project. The site features a blog, recordings of previous online discussions with academics, and museum and archive professionals, a crowd-sourced reading list and news of future events.
Created in April 2020 as Holocaust memorial sites across the world grappled with commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps online, the site has since had more than 6,000 unique visitors.
Any colleagues interested in Holocaust and genocide memory, and/or computer games, are welcome to join the project’s Discord server ‘Holocaust memory and computer games’, which is currently moderated by a team of 10 creatives and academics in the UK, USA, Germany and India.
Viki was also invited to speak virtually at ITSC, Lille on Tuesday 19 January on online commemorations during the Covid-19 pandemic and on Friday 5 February she will host an online roundtable for the ÄûÃÊÊÓƵ's with speakers from the Hebrew University, Imperial War Museums, Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. She will also join the University of Oxford’s on Monday 15 February.
